Topic: Buy or Sell / International Shipping

I LOVE my Norwalk juicer and now that my health is deteriorating again, I want to ship it from the U.S. (Michigan) to Jamaica where I now live but I’m having a problem finding affordable shippers. Norwalk was not much help other than to suggest UPS but UPS will not ship “personal effects” to Jamaica being that it is a “used” juicer.

Also any additional info about how to “drain the hydraulic fluid”, packing etc. would be greatly appreciated! (I have combed through the posts and noted the info about foam blocks taped to the unit, disassmbling, double boxing and banding. I have the original packaging but it is 10 years old so I would need to double box it if I can find a box that big or even a wooden box but all that sounds VERY expensive)

Thanks in advance!

Ya gotta be pretty intent on organic produce and have a lot of time on your hands and gas money in your pocket to be motivated to drive 120+ miles round-trip to the nearest Cosco.

Topic: Buy or Sell / Juicer for sale

Hi all, I have what I believe to be a model 230 Norwalk juicer for sale. I found it at a yard sale and didnt know what it was, nor did the owner so I bought it just out of sheer curiosity. It is a Norwalk jucier but I am unsure of the model but I believe it to be a 230. I can email pics to anybody who could help id it or anybody interested in buying it. I have checked it out and it seems to work fine. The machine is in south central Utah. Thanks

Topic: Buy or Sell / manual for #135 worwalk juicer

Oh, you were the person who bought the 135 peanut butter machine!! I wrote ebay telling them that the seller was committing fraud listing this machine as a juicer. It is the nut grinding version which norwalk made some time ago. John, you may remember this one or perhaps it was before your time at Norwalk. “Bigmarj” I feel that your were mislead in buying this machine It is missing the press part and i believe that the blade was special for grinding nut butters. I wrote the seller many times telling her that she was wrong listing this machine as a juicer..but she stubbornly refused to acknowledge it.) You can complain to ebay and you can give my name as reference or If you decide to keep it you will need a press of some sort to squeeze the juice from the ground pulp. You can also use this machine to made ice cream, sorbet etc. So you might consider ordering the currant juicer book and refer to the sections of the manual which do not involve using the press and making juice…paul

I agree, interesting, vibrant lady, but Matt Monarch is too-painful-to-listen-to barf bag material. This particular farmers market is in Ojai, California on Sundays, an hour from my home. Hopefully I will run into her there sometime and get some more information out of her. Thanks for posting this, Andy.

Topic: Buy or Sell / WTB: Norwalk Juicer

Hello,

I am looking to purchase a norwalk juicer. It does not have to be in perfect condition, as long as it is in good shape mechanically.

I am located in MD, and would love to find a local sale. I would be willing to travel up to 300 miles each way. Please shoot me an email if you have something available.

Thanks

To the best of my knoledge Norwalk is trying to budget time for refurbishing used machines and will try to make them available in the near future.

I did contact Norwalk and they said they had no refurbished or used available and that they were not keeping up with the demand for new machines and had no time to deal with fixing used ones

You really ought to contact Norwalk direct; if they have any used units for sale you’ll get the benefit of a factory warranty. Although the machines are very sturdy and chances are nothing will go wrong, that coverage is a security blanket (I recently became associated with someone on this list who bought a used machine that had to be shipped back to Norwalk for a non-warrantied overhaul; jwnoah can confirm). Don’t be fooled by sellers who offer a warranty of their own; it has nothing to do with the Norwalk factory and given that they have no access to original parts, they can replace defective (or even non-defective) parts with components, e.g., pumps, of inferior quality. There’s also no guarantee they’ll be around in 12 years, either. Be aware!

I should add that the 270 and 275 that are currently listed here sound like good deals.

Topic: Talk about Juicing / peeler type?

The Norwalk instruction book and video content state that carrots, beets, and rhubarb should be peeled and their tops and tails removed (Norman Walker concurs with the removal of tops and tails for carrots). This procedure results in juice that keeps better (not an issue for Gerson patients who I believe are supposed to consume their juice very quickly) and tastes better, with negligible (if any) loss of nutrition. I noticed that both the Norwalk Cal. video (Gerson-oriented) and other Gerson video content I’ve watched leave carrots unpeeled. Even if I were a cancer patient, I’d still go with peeling because the juice really is better in all respects.

As much as I’d like to believe Norman Walker’s “toxins assertion,” I’d have to see it backed up with hard science.

This is a very fascinating video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UaqTEc3uQU The lady interviewed actually worked for Norman Walker and made his juices for him. Enjoy.
